Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon from J & R Meat Co., Porterville CA

Cured with water, salt, cane and brown sugar, sodium phosphate, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite, flavorings
No known allergens (one of the "Big 8" food allergens

                                               Crazy Good Candied Bacon~ Kim Stock

  • 1 lb. of thick cut bacon (JR Meat Co.)

  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar

  • 1 tsp ground mustard

  • 1 tsp cajun seasoning

  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper

    ***Vary any of these ingredients according to taste or what you have on hand, the only one I would stick with is the brown sugar. You can add maple syrup for sweetness or flavor also***


          Mix all ingredients in plastic bag.  Place 2 pieces of bacon in the bag at a time and shake to coat. If you have a little one in the         house this part can be fun for them!   Continue with all your bacon until all is coated and placed on a aluminum foil lined cookie sheet.  Sprinkle remaining brown sugar mixture on top of each piece of bacon.  Bake at 325* for 30-45 minutes or browned and candied.  Place on parchment paper to cool.
